Durante l’undicesima conferenza “Advanced Building Skins”, tenutasi a Berna il 10 e 11 ottobre 2016, Maco Technology ha presentato i risultati di tre progetti e casi studio frutto della collaborazione con P.A.T.I. SpA e l’Università di Nottingham.
Lo scopo dell’articolo è offrire una panoramica dei vantaggi delle coperture e dei sistemi di facciata in ETFE sviluppati negli ultimi anni per il settore delle costruzioni e presentare i recenti sviluppi in tema di controllo della radiazione solare al fine di raggiungere specifici effetti estetici e garantire un adeguato livello di confort interno.
Io studio include dati tecnici e proprietà ottiche dei trattamenti di ultima generazione per film in ETFE sviluppati da P.A.T.I. SpA. Le potenzialità dei nuovi materiali sono stati presentati tramite due casi studio che comprendono una copertura a singolo layer per coperture industriali e l’installazione artistica in ETFE “Invisible Border” progettata dal famoso studio di architettura Cinese MAD Architects per il Salone del Mobile 2016.

Abstract
This paper reviews the advantages of lightweight ETFE roofs and facades systems developed in the last few years for the building sectorand presents the recent improvementsin terms of control of the solar radiation in order to achieve the expected architectural appeal or/and provide the adequate level of internal comfort.The research paper includes the technical data and the optical properties of the new generation of ETFE foils and treatments developed by P.A.T.I. SpA. The opportunities of the new materials are presented through recent projects engineeredby Maco Technology srl in cooperation with the University of Nottinghamwhich includes the retrofitting of an existing building and the “Invisible Border” installation designed by MAD Architects for the Salone del Mobile2016.
